Tick sound while on call

I don't hear static, but I hear this little ticking sound. reminds me of an electric sounding tick tick tick tick tick. Maybe it is the sensor when phone is up to your face?

try this.. hold the phone kinda close and activate the cam.. is that the same noise? I notice on my retail droid the cam makes a strange ticking noise when on my test unit it doesnt.. and the cam is much better on the older hardware...

What's that mysterious ticking noise?

Is it only during calls or is that only when you notice it? My first thought is the accelerometer. Try moving from Landscape to Portrait and back and forth and listen for the tick. Though if that is it I'm not sure what you could do for it... Are you talking on a rocking boat/chair?

I'm experiencing the same issue with a roommate's Droid. It's not a tick that is caused by physical motion, it's just an evenly spaced repeating tick. I've noticed it both times I used it phone, and while it's not very loud, it certainly is distracting and obnoxious. Was considering buying a Droid but I need it as a phone first and foremost...
