Tikl on rooted phones

My phones rooted, and has the reborn rom (thanks to jondevere). I was wondering if it be possible to use the side hard button (right above camera hard button) As a walki talki thing like iden, but with tikl? Since phones rooted I can edit system files

Sounds fun, you can definitely edit the keypad files to redirect to something, the hard part will be finding out what function to call directly in tikl.

Might be a long shot but you could try emailing the devs ask them if there is a keyfunction that you can call.

Basically the keypad config is just a text file showing you the actions for each key, it should be under
/system/usr/keypad/ I wanna say you are looking for thunder_keypad.kl or it could just be the thunder.kl I can't remember right now and I'm at work. But if you open either of those up you will get the idea of how the change is actually made on the phone.

Again it's just a matter of figuring out how to 'call' tikl.
