I have the time and date set to automatically use the network time and date and time zone.

Suddenly today the time and date is completely off. It's not a time zone thing.

Today at 12:38am on 1/8/2015 the phone is saying 11:06am and 1/21/2015. Just completely off.

I have tried:
1) rebooting
2) taking the sim card out and in again
3) I set the time and date to manual and put the correct time and date. I needed to reboot and then the correct time and date were there. But then I clicked the automatic setting again and it went right back to the messed up time and date.

I have searched this problem but all I am finding is time zone related fixes and this is not off by a time zone and the date is just completely wrong. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Welcome to Android Central! Bizarre. The phone is supposed to get the date and time from the carrier's network, so give Sprint a call and see if there are some problems with their network. Tell them your problem.

I have an LG G3 from Verizon, not rooted, that is currently telling me it is August 21st at 3:35PM. Have rebooted several times, as well as unchecking the date/time boxes for automatic time retrieval from Verizon network, rebooted, then re-enabled - no go...

Welcome to Android Central! Weird. I wonder if this has any relation to that problem Twitter had a few weeks ago when it crashed big time, and they traced the problem to the main server thinking that it was actually December 2015 instead of 2014.
