Not unless you use some module or any other trick after rooting. Even the old System UI Tuner was disabled on phones that included it on Oreo. There is a workaround to enable the UI Tuner back and change things on the status bar but changes on the time, like hiding it, don't stick.Guess not...

Agreed. The strange thing is that they disabled the UI Tuner and made more difficult changing things on the status bar to avoid overflow with bigger notches.I think the main impetus to move the clock to the left was to prevent the right side of the status bar from being constantly overloaded, in the context of any phone having a center notch.

I have no idea what you're talking about. We are discussing here one of the changes included in the Pie version, not restricted to Samsung devices. Please use the proper threads to discuss about any problem you are facing and please try to avoid being rude with other members. ThanksWhat a load of BS. Samsung is a loathsome company.

The time on the status bar works as a shortcut for the clock app. I found this accidentally while trying different ways to disable it. Swipe down the bar, tap the time and you open the Clock for alarms and such. Probably this is the reason why hiding it from the System UI Tuner doesn't stick and you get it back when the first notification arrives.Anyway to move it back to the right on the top?

Yeah, I forgot to mention that. Samsung devices don't include the shortcut only more stock phones like Pixel, OP or Moto. I think This_is_Nascar owns the Moto X4.Doesn't work on all devices. Works on my Pixel 2 XL, does not work on a co-worker's S9 (both on Pie).
Which makes Android lazily coded. Those of us with devices that don't have notches (I have a Pixel 2 XL) shouldn't be subjected to the design requirements of supporting a notch. As it sits right now - 4 notifications in the bar before it overflows behind a dot indicating more. They VERY EASILY could have coded around that...
