Time to Full Charge Widget or Status Bar indication?

I'm looking for some mechanism that I can simply wake my phone while it's charging and see on the lock screen or in the status bar an indication of the estimated remaining time hh:mm that it will take to fully charge my phone.

Widget solution should be able to be sized down to the size of an app icon.

This seems like a useful piece info to easily get without having to launch an app or go into a settings screen. I'd be surprised if no one has done this, at least in a very minimized way instead of a large widget with a bunch of other battery info.

State of charge is an estimate - the only accurate measure would requiring destructive disassembly of the battery. (The battery voltage is measured. Since it's connected to a charger that's at a higher voltage than the battery's own voltage [otherwise no current would flow into the battery], the measured voltage isn't exactly the battery's voltage, it's a little bit higher. Which is why, with most devices, if you unplug the charger the moment it hits 100%, it drops to 98% in seconds - it was really at 98% charge.)

The best way to charge the phone is when it's completely turned off. In that state, the CPU isn't running, so it can't display any widget or notification. (Hitting the power button to see the state of charge actually turns on some of the circuits in the phone.)

A widget constantly showing the state of charge would require that the CPU be running constantly (to run the widget), slowing the charge process (and could even burn in the widget image, so you'd see a "shadow" of the widget even if you took the battery out of the phone).

Some phones have this as part of their OS without needing a third party app or widget. If yours doesn't, Gsam has an ability to displaya fair bit of info, including time remaining, as a notification on the lock screen. Its averages are usually pretty accurate, but of course changing usage will affect it some.

This screenshot shows both the Gsam notification, plus the stock G4 time remaining info below it. After a few minutes getting charge info, the stock version changes to a time remaining notice.
