Tips for conserving the longevity of the Nexus 5 battery?

Hey guys, I just picked up my Nexus 5 a few days ago and i'm loving it so far. I previously had a Nexus 4 for about 1 1/2 to 2 years, and the last few months i could barely get half a day out of the battery.

So I was wondering if you guys had any tips to help me keep my Nexus 5 battery healthy and last as long as possible

I'm tempted to say "Don't use it", but I must resist this. What you might find useful is to install a brightness widget so that you can adjust the brightness on your home screen, 10% at a time. I find it's easier and more precise than pulling down the built-in brightness adjust.
