Tips for moving icons?

Is there a trick to successfully create an icon group? Most of the time if I try to drop an icon on top of the other, they just swap locations. I have to just get lucky.

Also is there a trick to move an icon from one home screen to the other? I hold it on the edge of the screen and it just sits there.

I know what you mean. I find if I drag the icon to the target folder and hover above it, it will visually indicate when you can drop it after a moment of holding steady above.

It depends on which launcher you're using.

Samsung's launcher? (TouchWiz or Experience>) They're hit and miss when it comes to making folders.

Nova? It works almost every time. (Every time if you use a stylus or S-Pen.)

Try bring it in to the existing icon from one side, the other, the top or the bottom. Depending on launcher, one usually works, while the others don't. (If you don't realize that, there's your "get lucky".)
