Tired of "Out of Storage Space" Messages - Help!

I deal with the same issue. Fix for me is:

Move eligible apps to the SD card

Under Settings>Storage, Tap Cached Data to clear it.

I will be doing a full factory reset when I get Marshmallow. Until then, dealing with micro-storage management.

Don't be deceived though. My wife's iPhone 5S runs our of storage regularly as well due to photos and imessage. Those two things alone take up 4-5 GB of her 16GB capacity. Apple devices are not free from storage constraints. I have to move all her photos off periodically but heaven forbid if I touch her imessages....

The truth in all of this- is 16GB just doesn't cut it anymore for any phone, even one with SD slots. My next phone will be 32GB Nexus 5X, but wish they offered a 64GB variant.

What's astonishing is Android added Adoptive Storage in Marshmallow (6.0) and then omitted SD cards from the Nexus 5X and 6P. Talk about the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. They do need to add an ultra high speed microSD port though. I think most phones' microSD slot doesn't do justice to the speed that the cards are capable of.
