We shouldn't have to keep putting up with resets after we paid our money. I got tired of waiting so I rooted. Now running DasBamf 3.0 and I must say IT IS FREAKING AMAZING!!! I am also overclocked to 1.594GHZ. Holy Sense 3.0 Batman.

Anyone else rooting because of no update?

Hell YES!!! I just rooted a day ago and finally put Das Bamf 3.0 rc3
! I JUST fell in love with my phone again! I overclocked to 1.4 also for it to be functional for me too.

i am too intimidated to root and load these ROM's and stuff on there. I want somone to show me how to do it in person, not by watching a video or reading a step by step instruction.

Do you have a website or instructions that you followed?

Rooting tonight. Already downloaded the files. I just needed to block out the time to do it.

Sent fom my Thunderbolt using Tapatalk for your reading pleasure.

Tired of waiting so I rooted.....through my closet and found an old Samsung flip phone...and it STILL had a 40% charged battery!!!!!!

Danny, which instructions did you follow to get this done? I rooted mine and my wife's the other day and the reboot issues went away but now I want more!

Ryan, are you needing to know how I overclocked? In the Das Bamf ROM, there's an app called Das Bamf toolkit you can set the CPU speed there. Also I used the development section on our thunderbolt forum to guide me on how to install this Rom. Zeroneck has a great thread on their that guides you on how to install gingerbread tons coming from froyo. It is insanely helpful.

Also in the toolkit app, it gives u the option to overclock to 2ghz (1.9) but I wouldn't suggest going over 1.4ghz. From what I heard and been advised is that anything over 1.4 will be unstable or you could royaly screw your phone up. Then again I the the OP said he's running at 1.5.

So I have my new TB coming. I have spent an enormous amount of time reading through these forums trying to determine how I want to configure the phone as well as to root or not root, flash a different rom etc.

It seems to me that the rooting is going to be a necessity for me. Question is whether or not I update the ROM?

Here are the list of things that will be important to me:
No reboots and simple stable interface
Improve battery life
Quality phone performance + 4G stability (will need to talk and interface data at same time).
Don't want to have to overclock or undervolt unless absolutely necessary
Tether (using unlimited data plan)
Skype w/video
ability to view and simple modify office docs (word, excel, PP)
ability to pull several email accounts seemlessl.

I am sure there will be more once I get the phone. Since this is my first smart phone will expand as my experience broadens.

I should note that I am comfortable following direction and dealing with more complex processes.

Comments/suggestions appreciated.

Was the overclocking a necessity for stability or otherwise or simply a desire to improve performance?

It's not necessary... that is IMHO... I have not overclocked my processor and it's working just fine.

I rooted last night, then flashed liquid gingersense 1.2 & MR2.5 today. So far it's great, also overclocked to 1.4ghz.

It was just a desire. In my own opinion and the way I perceived the ROM, it seemed to be just a bit laggy or jumpy if you will so I figured its because of the Sense 3.0 and therefore I just overclock it to my necessities.

How are you guy's choosing which ROM to use. There are quite a few, it seems like the primary decision is GB or Froyo, then which version of which you want. Still trying to find a good link that describes the benefits and liabilities of each.
