I've been a P3XL owner since around Feb. I was a bit upset that TMO did not support ESIM for post paid accounts, only pre-paid accounts.

That's not the case no more. As of a few days ago, you can now take advantage of the ESIM.

Took a little work because I had to use a second phone to speak with customer service.

Experience went something like this.

1) Customer Service called me on my second line and instructed me to turn off my primary phone.
2) CS did their thing with deactivating my physical card and initializing my ESIM.
3) Afetr restarting the phone, no service yet.
4) Customer service had me add a carrier in the network settings but that did not work.
5) CS then suggested that I go to a store so they can scan something and help me further.
6) Me being the tech guy that I am, I kind of new what CS was talking about scanning something. He meant the QR thing.
7) I searched for that QR pic and found it on some reddit thread.
8) I connected my primary phone via WiFi to my secondary phone.
9) On the secondary phone, I displayed that QR code.
10) I scanned the QR code with my primary phone and then BAM, everything started to work after going through a few prompts.

So now that I have my primary phone using the ESIM, I inserted my second line into the tray.

Well, turned out that it doesnt simply works. You can only use one network at a time, not both. However, looks like Android 10, which I should be getting soon once I get the notification, will resolve that issue and allow for two networks to work.

If I cant use two networks at the same time, well that defeats the purpose of having ESIM and then an extra physical SIM. So hopefully A10 truly resolves that.

Hopefully this helps out anyone else in here that's interested in the ESIM setup.

1. It would be really nice if you would post a link to that QR code, in case anyone else needs it.

2. Almost all phones that support dual SIMs are dual-standby - you van use only 1 SIM at a time. (Granted, you can make a call or send a text on the one of your choice, but most of them won't ring on an incoming call on the non-selected SIM - it goes to voicemail.) I've only noticed about 2 dual-active phones in all the time I've been in the field.
