So I was on the TMobile website and I see that the Galaxy S9 BOGO offer requires an additional line of service but the G7 BOGO offer does not. Do I have to attach the G7 to an existing line? I would assume so.

I did the BOGO but ended up cancelling it. Yes, it had to be attached to one of your existing lines. They told me if it wasn't I'd probably not see the monthly credit for the phone show up on my account.
Besides that, you have to still pay sales tax. There were a couple other fees involved too.
I just felt like there were too many restrictions for using the phone, and to me, BOGO means the 2nd is free.... No taxes or other fees.

I understand the taxes but seems like it far too restricted. there aren't any great incentives for the G7 right now other than Canada where they give you a free tv. I'd hop on it if that were the case in the states.

The Note 8 is cheaper which makes me think twice. I wouldn't have considered it last year, but now? it seems a lot more enticing.

I'm actually returning my G7. I have have the worst battery life. Last night, dropped 24% in 6 hours on my night stand. No screen on time. Just sitting there.
I'm just going with the note 8.

They priced it wrong. Boom box feature sounds cool but not at a $100 premium over the G6 starting price last year. It's like they're intentionally planning to fail.

You don't have to use it on another line, it just have to be on EIP on two lines. Meaning you can still put your sim in other phones and keep using that. They only requirement is the phones have to be on EIP on two lines. Personally I need only one, after taxes and other fees it's not much of a deal even if want to sell the other because hard to sell a phone that still has EIP balance on it.

This is what customer service told me. Unless I'm misreading, the phone has to be used on one of the lines. After the credits take effect, then you can take your sim card out.
@tmobileHelp: That device does need to be used on the line for it to show as active- To receive this offer, you must buy two eligible LG devices on EIP during the promotional period to use with a voice rate plan- and you did! So those devices do need to be used on the correct line in order for the system to recognize that it is a part of the offer and to be approved :)

Your credits should begin within your first bill cycle after purchase, but in some cases, it may take up to two bill cycles after purchase to begin. If you don't see a credit on your first bill, don't worry. You'll see a double credit on your second bill.

As soon as that does come in to you and is approved, you can move the device around but the line does need to remain active and in good standing in order to recieve the bill credit for the promo!

For me in the store they said it doesn't matter and don't need to be activated. In general T-Mobile gives different answers to different people. Who knows at this point and anyway I returned my BOGO phones since too many variables and just bought mine off craigslist.

What promo did you do? Why return? eBay is flooded with G7 right now but can't jump ship yet.

I picked up one locally for $550. Too many hassles with BOGO, tax for both of them, monthly credits for 24 months instead of one shot reimbursement. Also selling the second one is a pain especially if it's still on eip. Even if it's paid off you aren't getting more than 500-550. Too much headache, I just like paying upfront without any EIP, monthly credit etc.

If you want 2 phones then yeah makes sense.

Nice. That's the price on eBay right now. Light breed killed it for me. Might wait for HTC U12+. Heck too many phones releasing right now, lol

Yeah I have light bleed as well, sucks I can't exchange in store but oh well got it for less. Honestly U12+ is too expensive, I have a pre order for it on Amazon but pretty sure I'm going to cancel since my 128 GB unlocked U12+ pre order is around $920 after tax, even base model comes around $870 after tax. Too much and also have too many phones currently

Lucky no sale tax on my side, $799 with no ship date.
