Tmobile Sensation 4G ICS Update

I downloaded 4.0 this morning. While a lot of it looks like GB, there is a lot more flexibility. I love the idea of folders, to save on the desktop space. At first use, the phone seemed to lag and bit and a bit of unresponsiveness. Then I had to remove the battery and replace it and it practically didn't read anything on my SD card. Eventually, the information seemed to have loaded. Also, downloading some of the apps, seemed to have gotten stuck in the process.

Over the course of the day, it seems the phone has gotten faster and more responsive, without any kind of reset. I was able to reload some apps and I was able to get the connection I was used to. Now over the past few weeks, I've used the GO launcher, haven't gotten one white HTC screen with Go Launcher. I used SENSE and at first it seemed to work fine. Later I got the white HTC reboot screen, so I've gone back to Go Launcher. It's been super smooth since!!

I'm anxious to see what 4.0 improvement will come with the apps. I do love the 4.0 versions of G+, Google Talk and Gmail. Only exception in Google Talk, seems to have taken away the ability to sort ALL your online contacts, just most used contacts.

Overall, I'm pretty impressed with the upgrade (so long as I use GO LAUNCHER). Seems sense still has some issues.

Ok so finally the update..I have been waiting for this update like a crack heads waits for the dope dealer to give him his next hit. If it disappoints me well just say I got a legal team called Glock and Ruger Red Hawk (they will do all the talking with the sensation) like the father on you tube who shot his daughter's laptop..... So as I type this, it is installing... hoping I have no issues... yeah right :-\

Is anyone having problems with the stock gallery app after the update? It was working at first but after that one time it keeps saying that I have no photos/videos. But when I use a third party app (ex: QuickPic), everything is there. I tried force closing it and rebooting the phone, nothing seems to help.

+1 for Apex launcher. Really gives you that pure ICS feel as with the G-Nexus and it has been lag free thus far. Highly recommended.

Mine did that for several hours, then started to work ok.

Anyone know how to disable the background Notifications? This is so annoying. GB made it very easy while in ICS it doesn't seem to work unless I have a mobile date limit or something...

Also, how do I make the folders I was told ICS has?

I've had the same issues with the Gallery App - works fine with new photos, but no no love for my existing ones. Otherwise, I am very happy - the battery life is noticeably much better and everything seems just a tad smoother.

For folders. just drag an icon over another icon and *BAM* makes a folder. To get rid of it, just do the opposite.

My wifi indicator in the notification bar appears to be broken - usually showing just the bottom dot. It shows full bars on the lock screen and when I go into Quick Settings, but up on the notification bar - just a dot.

Anyone else?

Also, does anyone have any quick links to what changes / benefits we should see now in ICS?? It's been so long since the ICS event and coverage that I've forgotten.. Not too mention, I'm not sure if there was ever a story done on Sense 3.x and ICS.

I'm seeing tiny things here and there (more free memory being the biggest plus), but I'd love to find an overview written up pointing everything out to refresh my memory.

I couldn't really find what I was looking for (an overview vid w/ ICS and Sense 3.6), but here are a couple of other refreshers for anyone else wondering like I was:

Same Install issue as 'JimmyDX809 '

I too have the same issue! I called htc and they first told me to 'reset to stock' my phone, then do the update at that time. I did that but still got the same thing each time (just like the first comment above). Then I called htc back and then they said the only way to get past this was to install a special sync software (only available for Windows not Macs) and then 'try' to install a different custom rom that was ment for a different device, because they said they did not have access to the Sensation Rom. WOW, HTC's customer support is the worst ever, it's like they didn't even know where to start and they were making it up as they went. by the way, that last suggestion they mentioned about the different rom, didn't work either.

If anyone out there has found a way around this, please post the solution here, I and many others will be very grateful!
