I typically get unlocked but there seems to be no difference. Updates even seen to come a little faster than unlocked.

Is there a lot of bloat on a TMobile variant?

Very little.. I think like 3 to 4 apps which most can be disabled

Also, the startup animation will have t-mobile logo and that weird sound 🙂

Yes the T-Mobile one will have bloat. Their account app (to me not so much bloat), tv stuff probably.. other random BS.

Unlocked should work fully on T-Mobile with all the important things like wifi calling / volte.

By far the least bloat of all carrier phones. And 1 or 2 of those 3 or 4 apps you may actually find useful. As in, 1 or 2 apps you may download anyway if you have an unlocked version.

I don't know if it's confirmed that you'll get every Tmo frequency with the unlocked version, like the 700mHz one.

You will not be able to video call people straight from the dialer with the unlocked version, from what I've read. So you'll have to use 3rd party apps for that. Which you might have to do anyway if they're using an iPhone for instance.
