To Buy or not to buy V20

Guess I'll have to back every data up regularly.
Talking about warranty I saw a comment on a youtube video regarding bootloop. LG didn't replace his phone despite the bootloop because the software and hardware is all good. I find it strange. I can't see the thread anymore and dont know what he did next
Just make sure you have Google backing up all your stuff, photos, settings.. And have an SD card that your phone saves pictures to. With that you'll be set without having to do backups cause the cloud will have all your PIM and your SD will have the full resolution backup of your photos and video.

Is there any fix for bootloops? In case it happens on the v20

From what i read up on the bootloop... no beside bringing it in. It on a hardware level cause by heated up solder point on the logicboard melting together unable to run properly afterward. I haven't read anything about people able to change it themselves only issue with trying to get manufactures to warranty it.

Also beside the initial setup I heard the V20 relatively dont get warm much afterward. So if it have the same issue there a chance it might not happen.

This is a very helpful tip. I'm saving everything that I could on the SD but not doing google back up. Lool thanks man!

I hope so. Cos with my current s5. I play heavy games and even use my phone while charging and it gets hot. And that's a bad habit that's hard to break for me. Lol so I hope it won't be bootloop wont be triggered on v20

Pictures is all I care about and they're going to the SD card. My V20s told me they wouldn't boot loop. I'm gonna trust them until they give me a reason not to.

I've never had a phone do boot loop or whatever so does that only happen to phones that been rooted or can it happen to phones that both been rooted and not rooted?

A bootloop can happen for a number of reasons. Both from bad software (including a bad rooting/flashing attempt), and from hardware issues like the G4 is known for.

Ive had the V10, the G5, and now the V20. Never had a bootloop, and not really sure what it is.

One thing I can say - the G5 ran very hot. If you had a few things running, or using the browser, it would be hot to touch. Charging was hot too.
Now the V20 - its cool as ice. Never gets hot, only got slightly warm once. And it has the same specs as far as chipset and ram. 7.0 must have fixed most of it.

I have had my phone for 14 days. It runs super cool to the touch wither the phone being charged or while being used for me.....

This phone was of interest to me but LG decided not to sell in the UK. Wonder why ... .

As is, I am extremely happy with my 7Edge and will await the next gen Samsungs.

You have a point. But I just want to know if it is worth the risk. Cos I'm a prepaid user and I'll be paying it in full if i decide to get one.
Buying it outright usually is EVEN a better deal than getting it from a carrier because many places offer a 14 day return with NO restocking fee... BUT, even with a $50.00 restocking fee, i rationalize its worth it to "rent the phone" for 14 days at a rate of $3.50 a day to see if its really for me... :-*

I've had mine for about a week, still evaluating if I'm going to keep it. If I were using for business, I would think it's a decent migration from the Note 7. Capture Plus is no SNote, but it's a helpful tool for notating screen shots etc. If you use the stock LG email and calendar apps, Qslide is a nice multitask/multiwindow tool that allows you MS Windows like functionality to have the apps open on the home screen. Nougat multi-window is also a nice feature. Plus, you can customize your home screen buttons. If you don't like the back button on the left, you can move it and even add more buttons if you like.

As a phone, it runs well and runs cool. Display is nice enough to enjoy content and is decent outdoors, but it's no Samsung AMOLED. Gaming for me has been fine. Not a huge gamer, but I do indulge in a few missions of Hitman Sniper daily with no problems. It's no slouch, but it's not without the occasional hiccup or slow to open app.

Camera is growing on me. At first I was very disappointed but a few tips found on here, plus just getting used to it have turned my opinion around some. Plus it has some unique features that I've not seen on other manufacturers like the ability to record on the front and back camera at the same time. I just recently started playing around with the built in video editor, and that has some fun features as well.

Phone reception has been good, and LTE has been on par with my last few phones.

The LG UX is ugly, but well optimized IMO. There's a lot of customization you can do to tailor the phone to your needs.

A lot of people dog LG, but this is my 3rd and I find them a refreshing departure from Samsung. LG is an innovative company that's not afraid to take a few chances. Sometimes they strike out, but they come back and learn from their mistakes.

As I said, I'm still evaluating. I usually only keep phones 3-4 months anyway because I take full advantage of Tmobile's Jump on Demand. If I do return this, it would not be because I find anything fundamentally wrong with the device. Just because it may or may not be the phone for me right now, doesn't mean it's not a solid device that will check a lot of boxes for a lot of people.

Just my 2 cents.

Buy one. I switched over from Galaxies. I tend to keep my phones for 18 to 24 months. Prior to purchasing my V20, I was also considering Galaxy S7 Edge and Pixel XL. I have no regrets in my decision and love my V20.

I think Hamlet would of felt like the v10 was the rightful king of Lg Flagships, and would of hated the V20.

IME, the V20’s display is preferable. Also, I find my V20’s battery better than this V10. Build is better on the V10 but also great on the V20. Camera is good enough for this girl on both. They're both great devices, but if I could only have one it's be the V20 due to preferable display and battery.
