im not so sure whats wrong with some people or if they got defective units.. but my fascinate is a dream phone..

battery life is amazing.
speed of the phone is amazing.
size and style of the phone is perfect.
signal (im pretty much maxed 3g and my voice bars whereever i go), is amazing.

im using launcher pro, non-rooted, non-lag fixed and this phone is just perfect.. if i start to run into lockups or slowdowns ill look into the lag fix and rooting but right now i see no need.. and im looking forward to the 2.2 update.

if you are in the market for a new phone.. you cant go wrong with this one.

also everyone ive talked to has compared my clarity to a landline.. no idea what this echo issue some people are having is.
my gps was a little buggy at first.. messing with the settings fixed that and it locks on accuraretly, in just a few seconds.
I agree with you on everything! I remember on my Droid (original)s I had so many people tell me I was muffled and ****, and once my speaker completely blew out for no reason, and no one has ever had any trouble hearing me on my Fascinate. My only slight complaint about call quality is unless you're on speaker, the volume doesn't go up high enough for me if I'm in a crowded area. But yeah, the phone is beautiful, fast, no problems. I absolutely love it, and it is a nice reward after being stuck with a bunch of ****ty Motorola Droids.

also i wanted to add my fiance has the same exact phone.. and hers is just as nice as mine.

were 2/2 on perfect phones.. i feel bad for someone who has had multiple defective units

I love my Fascinate and haven't had any problems with it.
I don't however understand the whole GPS craze. I can understand using it when you travel, but it seems to me people use it just to get around town. Are there honestly that many people that have no clue how to get from point A to point B in their own towns? Makes no sense to me but to each his own!

You either don't live in a very big town or you don't travel outside your home-work-entertainment corridor very often. I use my GPS all the time when looking for a more efficient route somewhere, such as when there is traffic. Also, finding locations I have never been (which are plenty living in an area with > 1M people) is a snap and getting to them is a snap, all thanks to Google Maps. If Google Maps didn't work/wasn't available, I would absolutely not bother having a smartphone.

Is there anyway around Bing on the Fascinate yet? Having Google's Navigation on my X is a godsend for when I get lost.

East, you can download Google maps from the market and use Googles Navigation. I never leave home without it. You can get the app from here:

I just ordered a Fascinate for both my girlfriend and myself on Saturday. We're going to be getting them tomorrow and we're stoked!

I find it so relaxing to tap on the home screen with the water and watch the waves, oh so relaxing, kind of ZEN like.:)

On my Droid 2 and Droid 1s I went through I was always changing the background. I didn't even try a live wallpaper on my 2 because of the weak battery. But on my Fascinate, I have no desire to change it from the waves! :D

I just ordered a Fascinate myself. Before, I was all hyped on the X, but after playing with them side-by-side, the bigger screen size wasn't as big of an improvement over the color quality the Samsung had. I should have it in my hands in a couple of days. :)

Awesome, congrats, man. I came from a Droid 2 which was still under the 30 days. I had my choice of any Android phone in the store. I hadn't even considered the Droid X (even though I loved the huge screen) because I had gone through 7 Motorolas and I was fed up. The Samsung screen is just stunning. So glad I went with this phone.

Just ordered 2 Fascinates via the BOGO (and free overnight shipping) offer on Verizon. I was torn between this and the X, but I'm coming from a BB Curve so anything is an improvement.

Here's hoping I can decipher all of the IT speak to mod my phone to its potential. I think I'll be happy with the Fascinate as is. Once I make some of the recommended changes (such as launcher pro and something about a lag fix I read about) I hope to be ecstatic.

Congrats on the upgrade. :D I had Launcher Pro on all of the 6 Droids that all eventually broke on me. Didn't risk it with my Droid 2, but that broke as well. I actually haven't felt the desire to put Launcher Pro on my Fascinate... or change the default background... I think they did a good job with the interface and the live wallpaper is lovely!
