To root or not to root...

I'm going to have a hard time giving up CM7 for the official VZW 2.3.

Im not going to , its wouldnt be worth it to give up CM7 for a non-rooted official vzw2.3

Exactly! I'm definitely keeping CM7 and rooted all the way...just the bloatware alone would make the phone like 5lbs heavier! I like mine high-speed; low-drag.

agree with you all. i can see no reason to have vzw's gb with bloat.

I rooted originally for nothing more than to be able to run backups on my games and apps so I didn't lose my scores, data, and the apps themselves should anything happen. It also makes it possible to move all that to a different phone later on should you swap devices and what to keep that information.

Then it lead into changing radios, roms, overclocking, making splash screens, sounds, ui mods, custom layouts....I could probably go on. Just do it, but beware it's highly addictive!
