To switch from Sprint, or not to switch

I've done the math, and I think I may switch to TMobile, but I had a quick question. I currently have $14.00 off for work, which is keeping the math in Sprint's favor. Does anyone know how quickly Sprint would drop my employee discount if I no longer work there? My contract is done at the end of the month, but TMobile is looking good, but Sprint's $14.00 off is what is keeping me. If I sign up for a contract, can Sprint drop the discount after I sign it?

Not sure if I said this clearly, let me know if anything needs explaining.

Edit: Also, TMobile's GS4 for $149 vs Sprint's for $249 is making me consider the switch too. Even though it's for new TMobile customers, and Sprint has it for new customers too.

You should be good at least for the next 2 years under contract once you provide the initial proof employment to get the discount. I want to say in the 8+ years we've been with Sprint I think twice we have had to provide the documentation of employment to continue the discount.

I'm with Verizon and they are going to start asking for verification of employment every six months. I don't blame them, I've been getting my discount even though I have left the company which gave me the discount 4 yrs ago.

Hopefully for you Sprint does not follow suit.

I like the 10% Sprint discount I get thru using a credit union

At the end of the contract the T-Mobile S4 will end up costing $630 compared to Sprint's $599 off contract. So for T-Mobile you pay $150 now and $20 for 24 months on top of your phone bill, just so you are clear.

I left sprint in January and im saving 30 bucks a month, but what makes it really worth it, i actually have DATA i can use..
I live in a major metro area with great TMO coverage and i get 10+ megs down almost anywhere i go.
Its been great actually being able to use my phone when i want.. LOL
To me that alone would be worth paying 14 bucks a month more..

Huh? You say your saving 30 bucks a month... Then you say paying 14 bucks a month more... You make NO sense at all......

He was referring to the OP's $14/month discount. If the OP were to leave Sprint, he would have to pay $14 more per month.

Actually, I think I said it weird. If I were to lose my Sprint $14, I'd be paying more than I would on TMo. I pay roughly $94 on Sprint (with Spotify), but as TMo seems faster on the $30 5gig plan I've been playing with, I wouldn't stick with Sprint on contract if I could lose my $14 a month and be paying more for slower data is all. TMo would be roughly the same (with 2.5 gig and Spotify and $20 a month), but I'd be GSM not CDMA, so Voice+Data (happens enough for me), and no contract.

Yup, the other guys got it right, i was refering to the OP 14 dollar discount. Sorry about the wording.. :)

I didnt mind giving up Sprint coverage as i no longer travel across the country.
For me switching to T-Mobile has been a 2 fold benefit. Im saving money each month, and i have better service, especially on the data side.

In a similar boat. Already started Pricing At&t. I only pay Sprint around 78 a month after my discount but with little to no service. the 5 gig plan with At&t would be 91 plus taxes but id have muuuuuch better coverage. I'm just cheap. If I wasn't id probably have left already. Then seeing that there are no plans on bringing LTE to Ohio soon...

The main thing making stay with Sprint is unlimited data.

Its horrible to hear my friends say when I asked them; hey you saw the video I sent you? "No sorry, I couldn't, I'm reaching my data CAP.

That sucks! I can't imagine a data cap+throttled.
Sprint is pretty bad in 3G but not so bad that I can't live. I don't need 10mbps down for anything lol which is still great if it was, but for fb, YouTube a pic upload here and there, all that excess bandwidth is useless and even more to pay more for it....imo.

In the same boat I have 3 lines with sprint 2 HTC EVO 4G LTE and a standard flip phone for my dad even after my 25% business discount I am still paying around $180 with insurance on both the EVO and no 4G in NJ northern/central my contract ends june 20th and my last billing day is the 22nd I been with sprint since 03 they always say I am a valued customers called in this week so see whats the best price they can give me on 2 Samsung S4 they offered me $80 bill credit on my main line & $50 on the 2nd and said i can get the phones at bestbuy for $199 rather then get them from them at $249. So care there no 4g in northern/central jersey in the union/essex county area they said they did some tower updates but still no 4G decided yesterday to try Tmobile out because I am getting rid of 1 of my sprint lines anyways and they doing unlimited for $120 for 2 lines plus the phones and $7.79 each phone insurance so far the speeds are great i have some speedtest below. So far its been between 4G which is HSPA+ and 4G lte compared to my sprint phone in my area im getting like .21-.52mbps download & .10-.22 upload i stay on wifi most of the time I honest miss my old EVO 3D when it came to actual data speed.

I switched from Sprint to AT&T 2 months ago and I'm glad I did. I get super fast LTE speeds nearly everywhere I go in the Seattle area, and I usually use about 1 or 1.5 GB of data per month (under my 3 GB cap). For me, this works great but YMMV based on your location and daily usage.

As long as I can pull this during peak hours and stay unlimited I'm staying lol.

your bill will drop 20 dollars a month there after if you don't get a new phone.
Plus Tmobile discounts the whole
Plan off the top. Not just the first line of service.

1371609380476.jpg You can probably tell when i started to get an LTE signal here at home lol. I've used that much data and speeds remain pretty consistent. 1371609389751.jpg Sprint has a happy customer that will be with them for years to come.:D
