to transfer everything from note 8 to note 9

I downloaded the smart switch to my pc can I use that to transfer everything from my note 8 to my note 9 including games also? Also, would I use the same method to move everything from the note 9 to my new note 20 when it arrives? I've never done this before so, I thought I had better get some help from people who have. All help will be greatly appreciated Thanks!

Would this work as an alternative, just go ahead and activate note 20 on sim it comes with then, just follow this to swap phone numbers between the 9 and the 20?

Just take the SIM from the 8 and put it in the 9, then it won't matter.

And then put the sim from the 9 and put it in the 20 before, I tur the 20 on to activate the new phone?

You can activate the new sim , either way old or new sim can work between devices no need to do anything else .

Smart switch back on my Note 20 , might not back up game data.

Yeah, I was hoping to restore game data along with everything else from note 8 to note 9 but, if it won't work it won't work.

If I would have checked the right box for the phone number I wanted for the upgrade order to the note 20, I wouldn't have this mess I guess chalk up another brain fart for me! LOL. Will I have to have Verizon deactivate the note 8 before I can sell it or, will it not matter since the phone is paid off? I didn't know if they have a lock on it or not and, I still just want 2 lines of service. Thanks everyone!

Since it's paid for make sure it's sim unlocked that way you can get more money selling, and all you need is go into settings >general management >reset and factory reset the phone that way it's not tied to you or your accounts.

I checked with the boss and she said that would be alright LOL!

Using smart switch, I made backups of my note 8 and note 9 to my pc. I now plan to restore the note 8 backup to the note 9. If I do the restore without, doing factory reset will everything, on the note 9 stay there too, or will it be deleated during the restore process?
