Today I was shown up and embarrassed.

Aokp build 3, included kernel for now (faux's) though I usually wind up back on francos nightlies.

Fwiw just tried timing the opening of the search with keyboard (and the phone hasn't been rebooted since last night so it's not "fresh" or anything) and it took under 3 seconds to fully load, I'm happy with that.

3 seconds??? I guess Android has not gotten better when it comes to lag since I dumped it last year for iOS, if my iPhone takes more than half a second to do anything I would be pissed off!

My Google now loads up in less than a second with the keyboard

Flashed new Franco kernel and it's no lag at all

It's not the ROM that removes the lag. I've noticed that Android, like many OS starts to lag after 6mo. (seems to be the magic number).

Also non stock keyboards tend to take some time to load. Swype takes 5 sec for me, Swiftkey 2sec, Android is stock is instant.

Yet you long for the company of those with a Nexus.

Why be embarrassed? His phone was just released a week ago and is BRAND NEW, while the Nexus is over a year old (and lets be honest, it was kinda underpowered to begin with). Lets compare the SGS4 or the next Nexus in a few months and see who the winner is then!

Try playing w/ different I/O Schedulers (Usually found in KErnel or PErformance settings) for instance I was using Deadline for a bit on Fuax's kernel and that was fluid, got wind that the devs personal preference for his kernel was FIOPS, gave it a try and what do you know... a noticeable improvement, the keyboard pops up (Swiftkey) and no lag. wHEN i WAS on Leankernel once moving the I/O Scheduler to DeadLine from BfQ (I think it was BfQ) made a huge difference, so play with your schedulers.

FYI: The thing w/ Swiftkey is to uncheck Spell Checker in settings/language & input/ ...Swiftkey has its own spell checker within the app so that should/could help clear things up.
Edit: Euroskank.....period!
