Today my phone decided it wanted to live in the past: time and date changed without my knowledge.

I noticed my G4 (t-mobile) was acting funny. My text messages were disappearing when I sent them and I could not connect to the play store. After checking out a couple other settings, I noticed the time and date was off. My phone decided it was May 5, 2016 and around 9pm when it is currently October 13, 2016 and around 3pm.

After I reset time and date, everything appears to be working right. I have no idea how that got changed and I only download apps from the Google play Store.

Anyone else experience this issue?

No. I'd do a virus scan and set it to scan all files, not just apps. In other words do a full system scan.

Also make sure that the time, date and timezone are set to automatic. That should pick them up from the carrier's towers.
