So the browser works but the search doesn't? As far as opening up the browser? I guess you're refering to the Google Search Widget?

Did u try clearing cache?. Try using dolphin browser

sent from my TBolt.....still better than an iPhone any day

Yes. I can't think straight. Sorry. 10 day work stretch. Tired. Lol

In that case, the clear cache/data/forceclose on Google Search would be the first thing. Browser next if that doesn't work (warning, clearing data on the Browser will lose your favorites -- learned that the hard way, but I had them backed up with My Backup Pro).

One thing that worries me is that you said you installed Dolphin. I have installed multiple browsers on other phones (not the TBolt and not on Android) and I have seen where sometimes you get yourself into a pickle trying to set the phone for a specific "default browser". Hopefully that part is not an issue. I have no experience with Dolphin or how it installs itself.

Thanks. Changed it. That's weird.

Try this: Open the browser the old fashioned way, then, Menu | More | Reset to Default. This might also remove favorites, not sure. But hopefully it will reset itself as the default browser and then the Google Search Widget will bring it up.

Its all good Frank
Thanks for the help

Thanks everyone. My brother had an issue. He has moved from Ohio to Texas. I suggested he remove SIM card and battle and reinsert. Blah blah blah. It worked for him.

this is a little off topic but I use the dolphin browser and at time when im trying to type in google the screen scrolls me down without me intending to move it. it only happens when im typing .. idk if any of you have ran into to this situation.

I installed the dolphin when I couldn't the stock search bar to work. I also had cleared out the cache, etc and did not lose any bookmarks. Also when you do have another browser on the TB it will ask you which you prefer........just like on the Navigation....

;)

I have also had this problem. After dumping the cache, cookies, etc... in the browser, I found the problem still existed. I went into the settings from my google homepage (Google) and switched to "do not use google instant". That did it. I repeated this several times and it works each time. Turn on google instant - nothing. Turn it off - works like it used to and your browser will fetch search results. Odd. Apparently there is now a problem with google instant on the mobile site.
