So I'm venturing off to my local mall to do finally get a new phone. Some of you know I accidentally smashed my OV in a car door. I've decided that I am not going to be buying another OV just for the fact that I really wanna try something new. With all that said, I'm not sure what phone I want. The mall in my town has a Target, Best Buy and a Radioshack all around it so I'm hoping one of them will have a deal on a virgin mobile smartphone. Any suggestions on what I should get?

I recommend - no intercept. That and the OV are the only ones I've used. Only one I would think would be a big improvement over the V is the Triumph maybe from what I've heard.

I use to have an OG Droid so I've been looking at the Triumph just for the fact that it has a notification light and auto brightness sensor. To me those are huge things believe it or not lol

I would wholeheartedly recommend a Motorola Triumph.

the development is alive over on XDA, it has a stable CM7 rom, and can be Rom'd out of the box in 10 minutes.

can be oveclocked as high as 1.9Ghz, the screen really, truly is something else. every other Virgin phone is 3.2 inches.

the CM7 rom has evreything working, MMS too, only things that are broken is the screenshot feature, haptic feedback on the capacitive touch keys (the four main buttons) and HDMI out, soon to be fixed.

i have experienced NONE of the issues in my Triumph that plagued early adopters

Is the Wifi hotspot working yet? That is my deal breaker atm.

I rarely need hotspot so thats not an issue. So I've found out that WFS an OS have notification lights which is awesome. But I think I might go for the Triumph still because the screen is huge. But then again WFS is an HTC phone.. and the OS does have a physical keyboard.. lol decisions decisions!

Man, I know the temptation to get something different is strong, but I would get another OV for now and hold out for the Black or whatever it is we get next. The OV is still a great device and the things that have followed it are not a huge leap in capabilities but are a huge leap in price. For me the only real reason to get a different model now would be if you want a KB - in that case the OS seems pretty nice - but as stated above stay the heck away from the intercept - bad news man.

Just my .02

I think I'm just going to get the MT. I'm not one to have the latest gadget, I just want something pretty nice and the MT is nice

I have to say, I jumped ship from my OV to a Verizon iPhone. The resolution & screen are mind-blowing compare to the OV. I would go for the Triumph. The upgrade is definitely worth it. Screen resolution, & speed .

the triumphs screen has a DPI of 261, thats close enough to apples retina display and far enough from the OVs 160 or so that it really does look AMAZING compared to a MDPI phone.

netflix, for one example, works perfectly off the market and on a good wifi signal, looks GREAT on the MT. its my number one app right now

having the sheer size of a 4+ inch screen blows away an iPhone. (i had a iphone for a loong time)

resolution is nice, but 480x800 fitting into 4.1 inches is just about up there with the retina display. sure the retina is higher but both look equally amazing to people who arent nitpicky and/or apple fanboys

@thexxoffspring - so did you end up with the Triumph? Just curious...
