I decided I want to buy a GN2 on Ebay. We are in a fringe area on Verizon's coverage map as far as 4G, and I don't want the device constantly searching for 4G and running down my battery. Through my searches on here, some people mention an app called Phone Info that lets you toggle this off and on. I want to be able to set it at 3G and nothing worse than that. When I searched for that app and read about it, reviewers there are saying they disabled the 4G toggle option.

Just wanted to ask here about the current status of any of this on your Verizon devices. Instead of driving 40 miles to a Verizon store and trying to find it in a menu, I thought I'd ask here first. If I can't toggle this off, I might not get the phone. Thanks!

Download "advanced signal status" from the play store and at the bottom choose the "additional information" button. It will take you to the same menu. Choose CDMA auto prl

To put 4GLTE back on, go to your settings - more settings - mobile networks - network mode

Choose lte /CDMA

I should have my GN2 by the end of the week. Excited! Hope it all works out okay since I got it from Ebay. I'm assuming I need to do some sort of restoring defaults when I get it in case the previous owner didn't.

You should do a factory data reset
