wireless charging - personally i must be missing something. My pixel XL still lasts a long time and charges quick enough to use for awhile in a short period. i just couldn't care less about wireless charging. for me, it is a complete non-issue

i guess the A11 bionic chip cant offset the pixels clean stock oreo and the snapdrgaon 835

At home we have an S7 and S7 Active. We tried the wireless charging using the Samsung wireless charging pad for several days and quickly switched back to the cord:
1) the phones were warm after charging for a while. To me a phone heating up significantly while charging is not good
2) the dang phone would stop charging at random times. I would have to move the phone off, and then on the charging pad to get the charging to resume. Not so good when you leave your phone during a meeting and come back to the same charge level.

People are commenting their tests are not very good. Look at it. The V30 has better score. It doesn't make sense. The pixel runs stock Android AND runs Oreo which is more efficient and controls processes better. The pixel also has a bigger battery. And it still scores way less. It just doesn't make sense at all.

This has me excited about the smaller Pixel 2. I have the XL 2 white 128gb coming from Verizon at the end of the month and Pixel 2 White 128gb coming Nov 12th with Google, unlocked. If I feel the 2Xl is too big, I'll return it to get the smaller. My concern was battery life for the smaller Pixel. To hear it can last for that long is great.

I'm a battery life fan. Screen on time rules. This is excellent news. I'm surprised the Pixel 2 (non XL) did as well as it did.

I noticed they didn't compare it to the Galaxy S8 Active and its 4,000 mAh battery.

Am waiting for the GSM Arena test, which I consider to be the true benchmark test.

Oh and I get similar SoT on my current Pixel running Oreo so Pixel 2 should be just fine with newer SD835.

Quick and simple...

Quick Charge 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 do not quick charge the Pixels. They will charge fairly quickly, but not nearly as fast as a compliant PD charger. The newly announced QC4.0 does support PD, so chargers introduced with it should so long as they have the 9v2A charging profile. Similarly, make sure any PD charger you find supports 9v2A (not all do - for example, the Anker PD power bank doesn't, while the RavPower does).

I wish Google had enabled the QC4.0 profile (well, I can't say for sure they didn't, but there's been no indications) as that would allow for optimized charging to the degree earlier QC compliancies afforded, in addition to PD.
