Tools or Guidelines to Customize the Top Bar

Hi Guys,I'm The New Android Guy I'm using for many,Many Year WinMo and I Like to start Customizing My Device in the correct way and I think I find the Correct Home for this task.Ok I like to start customizing(Skinning)the Top Bar and I like is some of You guys can Point me or Guide Me to the tutorial to do all this customization and the tools I need.

If you want to use BB, Pete has the notification bar set to black with a white clock in his ROM. You will need to be rooted to do this.
