Is it me or is the bottom speaker just a bit louder then the top speaker?

yes. top speaker is more treble focused while the bottom one offers a richer sound. They combine to give the stereo illusion.

Also yes, it is louder.

Do you have atmos on? Sounds moves around on mine depending on what I'm watching. Really cool.
