These are possible upgrades for me in the near future. I am a business user, and am putting this question out there to see if anyone has used both devices, and what your impressions were, comparing the 2. What sets each device apart from the other?

The big difference is going to be BB OS vs Android OS and after using both Android wins big IMHO. I use my Dinc for business and it does everything I need it to.

Former BB user here. In my opinion, Blackberry's biggest weakness is their inability to easily sync calendar and contact data over the air. You pretty much need BES. Every other platform has an included method to sync this data over the air. Something to think about.

100% agreed. Had the BB 8330 loved it until I tried the Palm Pre Plus and discovered I didn't have to manually sync calendar and contacts by Bluetooth to my laptop. Haven't looked back since. Just got a Droid 2 and so far have found 1 issue in terms of work usage -- contacts don't show their companies in the contact list only their names so you can't sort by company names like I used to do. The companies are in the contact, but you can only see them after you click on a contact.

So far the only app I've purchased was a little $1 app called Call Informer that puts the company and title on the call screen when one of my contacts calls. I've also found that the onscreen keyboard is so good, I rarely use the physical keyboard on my D2. I'm currently experimenting with the Swype keyboard where you just rollover the virtual keys in the word you want and Swype grabs the word for you. You can fly through typing (of course you need to have a clue how to spell which can be a challenge! :-)

I use to be a blackberry fan boy. For me, anything my bb did, my android device does better.

The hardware on the Droid 2 is better; more durable materials, faster processor, higher screen resolution, and better sliding mechanism. The battery life of the two are comparable. Android is a more capable operating system with a lot more apps available. BlackBerry smartphones are better withemail and texting. The edge in multimedia goes to Android.

It all depends on what you need it for...

I use to be an enormous BlackBerry fan, and in a way, I still am. But I have learned that there are much better smartphone options out there, but all depends on what your need is.

Personally, I carry a D2 and a BB 9650. I was only using the D2, and had my Corporate email set up, along with my contacts and calendar on it. Then I was offered a free blackberry, and being a gadget dork, I couldnt turn it down.

My 9650 is for business use, and only gets used for email on my company BES, I rarely use it for anything else, an occasional phone call here or there and a text or two. I can type emails faster on the BB keyboard than the D2, but it isnt a significant amount faster.

My D2 gets used for EVERYTHING else. Internet, personal email, media, apps, etc, etc, etc.

Blackberry OS can not compare to Android, in terms of UI, Apps, Browsing, etc.

My choise is Android, it can do everything my blackberry can, and then some.

But luckily I have the best of both worlds, and get to carry both.
