Want to try and increase my available storage. For starters, I needed a file manager app that shows the size of each folder. The Toshiba File Mgr (Ver 3.1) doesn't do this and surprisingly neither do most of the file managers available. After several tries I found "AndroXplorer" It offers several different "view" choices, one of which shows the size and # of files in each folder.
Using this app, I determined that the largest single folder on my tablet was "android/data/com.amazon.venezia/cache". In this folder were hundreds of "*.apk" files, most between 7 & 8 MB each. In total this one folder was about 1.6 gigs!
So my questions are:
1. Where did all of these "installer" files come from?, Is there any reason for them to be there? Is there a android "cleanup" app similar to what one uses in the PC world to delete temp files? Finally, is there someplace in "androidcentral" that provides an overview of the general subject of un-needed files?
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
