Toshiba Chromebook 2 or Acer C720?

Hi guys,
I would like some advice whether it's worth to wait for Toshiba Chromebook 2 or buy an Acer C720.
I intend to remove Chrome OS and use only a GNU/Linux distribution. I am quite attracted by the Toshiba because of its screen (wider and 1080p), but I have some perplexities about the processor (how worse are the performances of N2830 compared to i3-4005U?) and the quality of materials/construction. I excluded the Samsung Chromebook 2 because of the ARM processor.

What do you think?

I have the C720 and I like it. In fact, I am using ti right now. As for the differences between chips, I am not sure, but I can ask around.

Edit: the i3 is probably going to be faster, but from what I understand, either chip will be fine.

If you're going to install a Linux distro, go for the i3 version. It'll definitely be a noticeable improvement

I have the Haswell 2955U C720, and it works fine, even with 2 GB RAM. I assume the i3 C720 is noticeably faster, but from what I've heard, it isn't by leaps and bounds. But overall, the C720 is a nice little machine, and probably better for you if portability is important (since the Toshiba is 13", compared to 11.6").

I'm eager to see a Toshiba Chromebook 2 to see what the build is like. Initial hands-on descriptions of the unit report a very nice screen, so that's a big plus. Their first Chromebook felt pretty cheap, with a poor touchpad, so hopefully this one will look and feel much better.

since the Toshiba Chromebook 2 will have a 13-inch IPS screen, it will no doubt look nicer.

sure, a faster chip may load things slightly faster, but most of the time, people spend much longer time looking at the screen.
