Question Total Data Usage And Total App Data Usage Discrepancy

Hi There,

I have a puzzling discrepancy between my total data usage and actual app usage, for which I now have 3 data monitoring apps installed because of this.

Principally this has always been Internet Speed Meter just to give me an overview of my total daily data usage.

I recently also installed Glasswire, purely out of general curiosity to get an overview of what apps were using what data when I discovered the following.

The first app, Internet Speed Meter, is very basic in that it only totals the amount of daily data usage which is exactly what I wanted. However GW, which only shows total individual app data usage, is consistently 20-30MB less than the total data usage shown on ISM.

I subsequently installed Data Monitor which shows both total daily data usage and total individual app usage, again with the same result.

Any ideas as I'm totally baffled!!!

Please note: I DO NOT use wifi and all battery optimisations are OFF

If you compare the 3 to what your phone providers data states which one is the closest?
