Total RAM, why is it 2.5GB and not 3GB?

The phone comes with 3 Gb total ram as advertised

But why do I see only 2.5 Gb total ram (Settings > Memory)

Can someone comment on the same

I don't have the phone, so I can't see what setting you're looking at, but is that total RAM or used RAM. If has 3GB, having 2.5GB in use would be normal.
