Hi everyone, happy holidays! I was wondering if anyone on Android Central using Total Wireless? ( MVNO of Verizon) I'm having a lot of web connection and text issues. Just curious..

Have you checked with anyone else using Verizon in your house? You may just be in a dead spot for Verizon, so Total is the wrong choice.

Are you on the international variant? What version OOS are you on? There has been reported connection issues with VZW on the latest build, but the Beta 1 build is fine with VZW, you can read what others are experiencing over at XDA

I believe your out of luck. OP6t doesn't work on Verizon mvno's. You can't get/sent sms/mms without adding the CDMA_Less to your line. Only Verizon post paid and prepaid techs can add this. MVNO's have no way to add it.

Thank you for your input. I actually have a work iPhone with Verizon that works at my house with no issues. I went ahead and tried the Verizon sim in the OP and guess what.. All worked well with the One Plus except incoming text. It's a work account so I have no way of making any changes adding CDMA Less etc. I didn't try the Total Wireless sim in my work phone in case something got messed up.

After some detailed work and conversations with the Total Wireless rep, I now have the One Plus working well with Total Wireless except for incoming text..

Data is extremely way faster on the One Plus than the Verizon on the iPhone. It's optimized for sure. All outgoing text, mms, calls both ways no issues. Call quality superb. Just one major issue.. Can I receive a text and or an mms, no way. The rep of TW even went ahead and changed to a new number too. Same issue.

As this is a dual SIM unlocked One Plus, I'm glad I kept my primary number to sim 1 and will probably stay with my current GSM carrier Mint Mobile (user of T-Mobile network). I did try the Total Wireless sim card in slot 1 only but experienced the same text issues.

My current plan comes up for renewal soon and I wanted to consider changing to a Verizon MVNO so this was a good test. Unless I change directly to Verizon looks as though I'll probably stay the current course with Mint Mobile.

I am amazed that I had to go through so much hassle considering the One Plus is supposed to be compatible with Verizon and it's MVNO's.

Maybe in the near future and with updates, incoming text issues will be resolved once there are enough documented complaints.

I do have to recommend the excellent service and follows up by the Total Wireless reps. You know typically, MVNO's are not known for their "customer support" but they did a good job and 100% effort for trying.

One other thing. There's a YouTube video out there that a guy tries out OP6T with Total Wireless. He's unable to even access the Web. I had the same issue but the APN has to be setup all with all upper case letters along with TRACFONE not TRACPHONE.. Such a small detail to overlook.

The same thing with MInt - the stock Mint APN didn't work here, I had to use TMO's APN. (I recently tried the Mint APN and it works now - go figure.)

Funny, my primary number on Mint Mobile was using TMobile Fast but just this past week, I too had to setup on their Ultra Wholesale APN. Go figure..

Ultra Wholesale was still working but, since it only took a button tap, I switched to Fast, and that works too.

Well, the saga continues with Total Wireless. I think Sulla1965 has hit the nail on the head. No matter what's been done, incoming text and or MMS doesn't work on the 6T. Everything else is fine out bound text, mms, calls in/ out not an issue.

I'm really glad now I didn't port over my main number to Total Wireless and instead, used another number to test them out. Thank goodness for that.

I did some further experiments on my own. If I remove the Sim and put it into my work iPhone, everything works. Obviously, TW and or the 6T isn't synced with Verizon based on this "CDMA_Less" I seem to be reading all over the Internet.

It's is really a shame that TW can't get their act together. Their call quality seems a little better than that of Mint Mobile (T-Mobile) MVNO.

For now I'll go ahead and cancel TW and stay the course with Mint Mobile. They've introduced their new programs to kick in end of January which comes with even more data than before. Just received an email that I get 1 more GB for the same price of my 2GB plan.

Yep the op6t works fine on Verizon post and prepaid. So for now you have to use a GSM network if your using a MVNO service.
