Touch lag in games on moto z

[AC Question]

Just received brand new Moto z droid yesterday and everything ran perfectly smoothly including games. Today however, the UI runs fine but there is almost a half second touch latency in games (notably piano tiles 2 and Mario run). I have rebooted the phone multiple times, removed possible rogue apps and cleared the cache (pretty much anything short of a hard factory reset). Does anyone know how to fix this or are experiencing similar issues? Like I said, home screen and most apps (including Facebook) have no latency but games do.

Same thing happens on my Note 8 and I seriously don't know what to do. What Android version are you on?
