Touch less control or Google search

So recently I noticed that when my phone has headphones or an aux thing in the headphone jack, and I ask Google what the weather is or anything that would make it speak to me, it doesn't speak to me. If I take out the headphones, and ask again it'll speak to me. Weird. Does anyone else have this problem.

At first I thought that I messed it up cause I accidently got it wet near the headphone jack like last week.

It works for me. I tried it with headphone that have a microphone and headphones that don't. I'm not sure what the problem could be.
