Touch problem on Xoom?

Often the touch responsiveness is poor or does not work at when waking up the Xoom from stand by. The most common problem is moving the screen, items and scrolling. Does anyone else have this problem?

I have noticed from the kernel logs that the touchscreen sometimes initiates a calibration when it comes out of standby; what happens if you wait a second after hitting the power button before touching the screen, as a workaround?

Be sure you DO NOT have "Wave Launcher", which was free at Amazon one day, installed on your Xoom...it really screwed with screen response on mine.I dloaded it for my Droid X and it showed up on tablet as well.

I installed "Lookout" on my XOOM. It works great on my Incredible, so I wanted it on the XOOM. My touch performance immediately took hit. It was minor, not very noticeable at first. But the general degradation was unmistakable over time. I uninstalled "Lookout" and the touch issue went away.

I can't understand why there should be such an effect, but there it is. If I were you, I'd uninstall the last few apps you installed and see if that helps.

My XOOM behaves fantastically, considering all the complaints out there. The way I've kept it this way is being diligent with installs. I only install one app, and only if I really feel I'd use it. Then I pay close attention to how the tablet behaves over the next ten hours of so of usage. When I'm finally satisfied there has been no detrimental effects, then and only then, am I open to looking at another app.

The reality is Honeycomb still seems to be pre-production. It's getting there, but we are all early adopters. Some of us, like me, willingly. Others, not so much.
