After Lollipop, I'm experiencing touch screen issues with my G3. It takes a long time for the screen to respond. What's the best thing to do?

I have read a generic solution is to perform a factory reset soon after the lollipop update to rectify numerous issues.

Uhm. At the risk of sounding like an *****, will a factory reset delete everything? :-/
