Touch screen not responding on droid

My screen is having the same issue. I've rubbed the charger along the back of the screen & got nothing, is there something I'm doing wrong???

There is no magnet in the charger.

Find a magnet. Polarity makes a difference. One way will activate car home, the other will enable multimedia mode.

......these other guys said the chargers worked. I did find a magnet & THAT worked. The issue w/ my screen is that the right side of the screen is unresponsive. Therefore the unlock won't engage to the right side to open/answer calls. Using the on-screen keyboard was hell too, anything to the right of the letter "j" was a no-go. Guess I'll have to keep the magnet around until I get a new phone. This is actually the exact problem I had with my last Droid.....odd how the same problem keeps popping up.

How do you navigate through the pages with your d-pad? i tried many buttons and none seem to work, and since my screen doesnt work... i cant check my messages.. any help?

Ok I'm new to this but I have an Android tablet which has been working rather well since I received it, but now for some reason the top of my touchscreen all the way across it isn't working. The rest of it works fine. Is there any way to fix this?

Try posting or searching in the forum that corresponds to your device. You won't get much help on a dead forum like this one.

where eczacly do u place the magnet

This all depends what phone you have. You have commented in the OG Droid forum. This device is old, old, old, old and I forget exactly where the magnet goes. Also I believe that this bug to bypass the lock screen has been fixed and the magnet thing probably won't work any longer.

what does a magnet have to do with the touchscreen? i've seen some suggestions of taking the battery out, doing a factory restore..what do any of these have to do with the touch screen? mine isn't working either. just want to know how it all works.

my touchscreen stop working aswell but it was just unresponsive. the screen was looking great and the home, valume button and power button were working fine too.
I tarted pressing the screen down cuz it felt kind of loose like if there was nothing holding the screen to the digitizer but as i kept pressing and pushing the side button i saw lite the screen unlocked. After a long time of repeating that i finally found something. And hopefully it works for u. if ur screen turns on it should work. if it doesnt i dont think so.

try pressing the power button once, it should take u to the "Lock Menu " once ur there press the "Home Button" twice (2) and it should unlock ur screen. super easy.

I just wanted to thank you for sharing this! You saved me money for a new digitalizer and also all the stuff on my phone. Thank you

Hi, I know this forum is an old one...are you still around?

I am having the same trouble with a Droid 3. Is there a trick to using the magnet (placement, etc.)?

Thanks in advance

I remember trying the magnet trick...you had to hit it just right but it did put the phone in CAR MODE and aloud me to navigate with the keyboard a bit. I wish I could remember what else I did....but it was hitting certain buttons on the keyboard, along with the volume button I think! Someone recommended it. I know I dd not reset the phone to factory setting because I was afraid to lose data! I wish I could be more help!

I just realized someone had asked why my text messages were worth thousands....Im a real estate agent and was negotiating several deals...my clients like to text while they are at work!

I hope you can get this working again...I know how frustrating it is!
