Touch Screen over reacting/unresponsive

I've been having this problem recently. where when I use the phone for a few minutes either video or anything, the screen will go unresponsive or start twitching out and making fake presses all over the screen. opening things etc. 100% fix is to turn the screen off and open it again. but it will occur again.

why is this happening. and will a reset of the phone cure it. or is it an overheating issue?

It could be overheating, but I'm starting to suspect water - basically condensation. Have you recently had the phone in a warm house and brought it out into a cold (freezing or lower) car? Or the other way around - brought a cold phone into a warm house? Either one causes condensation - of water, naturally - which means a wet phone.

Or have you dropped the phone in the last few months? Digitizer damage can take a couple of months to show up.
