Touch screen randomly pressing itself?

For the last couple months, ive had an issue with my shift. it pretty much goes crazy. i have to pull out the battery or lock it for it to come back to normal but it keeps happening. i called CS and they had no idea what to do. i went through the normal troubleshooting... nothing works. i just did a wipe so i hope that fixes it but this is what ive been going through:

randomly presses areas on the screen.
when swiping to my other pages, it will zoom in and out and then twitch.
when surfing a web page, it wont scroll very far if im trying to scroll down to the bottom. it stops after maybe a 1/4 of the page has scrolled.
touch location gets really messed up.

any ideas?
 
I had the same issue. Mine was hardware problem. After only 2 months I had a dead spot spanning accross my screen and it would do the phantom clicking too. Sprint replaced it b/c it was under warranty. Cost $35. Take it to an actual sprint store.

Yea if its hardware problem, shouldn't have to be pay if u have warrenty idk why he payed just take it to a sprint store and have em replace it
 
if you have insurance its covered...under the warranty you have to send your phone to htc for service and the turn around time is about 2 weeks...only ways you dont get charged the 35 at the sprint store is either you have insurance or its a known issue that both sprint and htc knows, and there willing to replace the phone...so far on the shift there nothing that theyll replaced without charge under warranty in store
 
yep, just got off the phone. heres what happen:
called sprint... told me its 35$ to see the tech and 35$ again if they need to replace it. i said that its a hardware issue and its under warranty, not sure why i have to pay.. it wasnt user error.
they said call HTC for repair or replace.
Called HTC said 10 day turn around.... cant do it because of business. said the replacement should be free of charge but they dont handle that. so i had them 3way sprint.
sprint rep said 35$ replacement. i said put in the order then. came back and said the system wouldnt let them until i went into a store.
i asked, so then i have to pay 70 for a warranty replacement? he said normal price is 35$ but its up to the store.... so i said, theres no guideline they have to follow? they can charge me whatever they want? he didnt really have a response.
so im going into a store today =\ on verizon they switched my phone out every time there was a hardware issue... maybe thats changed but if its not my issue, thats how it should be. i paid hundreds of dollars for something that comes with warranty and should work correctly.

wow thats crazy cuz its only 35 for the tech to either fix or replaced it period...i would call back again and talk to a supervisor thats deff a lie..no reson y they should charge you 70
 
i truly hate you sprint. after doing everything they told me and leaving work early to hit up a repair center heres my story.
i go to the repair center. wait 2 hours. tech comes back and says, you need a replacement. but since this repair shop was 25 miles from my house they said they can note the account and you can call in to CS to get one sent to you. i say thanks and do that on.
i call and find out they will not replace it. i speak to two supervisors and they still wont. they made up some obvious BS about my account. i have 750$ spending limit, never been late on a payment, and have 5 lines.
at the end of the day, they wont replace it even though its a hardware defect as said by their tech.
why do their tech, cs reps, and supervisors ALL SAY DIFFERENT THINGS? i wasted time and money doing what they told me and now they say, it was all for nothing. f you sprint.

Is this a "corporate" store? A third party store? Do you have the protection plan? I've never had a problem at my local Sprint store. If it's been something they couldn't fix, they arranged an on-the-spot, free replacement...brand new device and transferred my files. No hassles.
 
Sprint used to be good at replacing phones under warranty, but they seem to have stopped that. I had a problem with a phone (a Palm Pre under warranty), Sprint plainly told me that they would replace the phone with a refurbished phone and charge me the $100 on my insurance. When I said that the phone was under manufacturer's warranty, they said that I should talk to the manufacturer then. I sent it to the manufacturer and had it fixed for no charge.

My wife's phone (a Samsung Moment) had multiple hardware problems. Sprint first sent a refurb with more problems and then said that the manufacturer should take care of the issue. Since the Samsung Moment has hang up problems which are not really fixable, we were stuck with a faulty phone. Neither Samsung nor Sprint would replace the phone with an upgraded phone or allow any credit toward a model/brand which would work.

Look to Sprint only for refurb replacement under insurance after loss or damage.

Hope that your manufacturer stands behind their warranty. If the manufacturer does not, you are stuck.
 
Here's the outcome. After all that the supervisor called me back and said he located a refurb BUT I have to go in and have another tech look at it. So I said fine. Tech confirmed its a hardware issue and I paid 35 for a refurb. Not even a mint refurb as they should be but I said screw it and left.
I moved from verizon to sprint to save money. Which I am doing but I sacrifice CS and signal strength. They also stopped their contract with towers they were renting so most ppl should see a drop in their reception. They sucked a ton of ppl in with low prices and now they're gonna downsize things, lower benefits, and add a $10 4g addon which I don't even use. Have 1 more year on my contract...

I have that problem too from my LG aristo from T-Mobile and first my screen is glitching and now this...I don't know why, but my phone says I have to update it in order to stop it...WEEEIIIIIRRRRD...I need ideas for how to stop that problem... It keeps pressing the circle/home button without me touching it!
