Touchless control Hangouts?

Is this possible? I can send text messages and call touchless just fine. I'd like it to send messages via hangouts of the Google Hangouts variety, not just text messages. Seems like a feature that should be there.

I agree, I prefer using Hangouts over the built-in message app but google now will only text via message app... Seems like if you select hangouts as your default it should apply across the phone.

With Hangouts being the default messaging app going forward I would think they would integrate this feature into Google Now....

I hope they add it. I rarely use actual text messages anymore.
