TouchWiz 3.0?

OK so I have a Fascinate and I was reading about TouchWiz 3.0.... and i want to try it out... found an apk file for it to port it over i guess... but when click it it says
"This is a system application. Do you still want to replace it? All previous user data will be saved"... needles to say that I'm a lil hesitant to try it.. i dont want to brick my phone again... and another thing.. i am still on Eclair EA28... is there a odin (all in one) package for it or just go with the same DL09 i was depending on?

first of all, what the heck are you still on eclaire for?

second copy the launcher into your system/app folder. dont install it, it may not work. also install adw or launcher pro. it tw 3 no workie you still have a launcher.

HAHAHAH im still on Eclair cuz i want to wait for the official Froyo... if it ever comes... if it duznt come in a timely manner then ill flash EB01. either way im gonna give my lil bro the fascinate and ill get the Thunderbolt.... now back to TW3.0... im not rooted anymore (dont remember why) so root is required to go into the sys/app folder via root manager (im guessing thats the process you are implying).. once copied, install? then worst case scenarion now what how am i gonna be able to acces LP or ADW if im a b brick or traped in a FC Loop?

dude do you have any idea how hard it is to ACTUALLY brick your phone?


you need to be rooted for system/app folder. launcher pro or adw is a back up incase tw 3.0 no workie.

i hope you can hold your breath for a REALLY long time. vzw will release 2.2, maybe.......

if you are ok with rooting, why would you wait for the official 2.2?

I have "bricked" the phone twice... although i don't think it would be classified as a brick since i got it back within 30 mins.. and i want to wait for the official cuz.... hmm idk i guess i dont like anything to not work tight out of the box (somethings might not work on the leaked EB01) but if everything is working properly please correct me. if it is then ill definitely go for it.. i already rooted the hone before flashed a superclean rom when it came out and and even a kernel but i didn't like how it worked so i went back and i was getting grief from my gf for "messing with the $500 phone" so all in all im COMPLETELY stock. and i feel dumb anyays because i wanted the TW From the new SGS2 (4.0) not 3.0.. Fail!!! on my part

We are throwing the term "bricked" around a bit loosely here. Bricked means that you turned your phone (laptop, digital camera, etc.) into a useless piece of junk. Ala a "brick". Its dead, and would probably require soldering in a new BIOS chip or some other complicated mod to make it work.

Your phone not being able to boot for a few days is not "bricked".

Opps my bad... and ok.. so EB01 gets the green light ... now to find out how to get it on... any insight?... i hate bloat, dont know what deodexed means, and i saw soo many options that i got lost

an odex file is an indexing fole that links all the files together. they are dumb. there will be some things on 2.2 that dont work. but lets be honest, theres stuff on 2.1 that dont work right!!!! thats why they released 2.2. that being said i think you will be quite happy with sc 2.6.

and as we speak that freakin machine adrynalyne just crapped out sc 2.7!!!!
