Touchwiz home has stopped working

[AC Question]

I just purchased a Samsung J3 Galaxy phone. I updated the phone and immediately, I got an error "Unfortunately Touchwiz home has stopped working". I tapped the OK button but the error keeps showing up over and over again. I can't do anything except click the OK button. Extremely annoying. I have half a mind to return the phone. NEVER AGAIN BUYING SAMSUNG. I should have just stuck with an iPhone but thought I should give this a try.

You can't really compare an inexpensive Samsung phone to an iPhone, though the comparison would be fair if all or many Samsungs, including the high-end ones, were troublesome in the way that you describe. I don't know how to address all the Samsung owners at AC in order to get feedback about that, so I'll go for the top, or somewhere near, and move this to the S7E forum for their comments.

Have you tried a factory reset? Shut down your phone, then press and hold the power, home, and volume up buttons. Follow the instructions on screen to factory reset your phone.
