TouchWiz performance

Fascinate owner for 3 weeks here. I rooted my phone a couple weeks ago, installed Titanium Backup, installed Clockwork recovery, and created a Rom of my phone. I'm not in a hurry to install a new Rom or mess with different launchers because I honestly don't mind TouchWiz at all. However, it does bug me when it lags/stutters.

Can anyone out there comment on what you have done to improve TouchWiz performance? Voodoo kernel? Task killer? Etc? Does using a different launcher make a big performance difference? Different Rom? Thanks!

Voodoo won't effect TW, but it does its thing for heavy read/write processes, like RSS feed, etc.

You absolutely don't need a task killer either, as the stock manager does quite well, and task killers are notorious for causing more problems than they solve.

As for custom ROMs, they are all built on top of TW until we get a functioning AOSP build. I have been using LauncherPro Plus and it absolutely flies. If you do happen to switch to a different launcher, be sure to remove all of your TW homescreens down to 1, and remove all your widgets as well to avoid any lag

A debloated rom is the way to fix the lag... I have stuck with debloat roms and barebones kernels (no fancy stupidfast or voodoo stuff, ever) and I never see lag despite a ton of apps, and a few widgets running all the time. No task killers either, but i do keep an eye on the tasks manually to clean up needless programs.
