so I just got the TP last night and I had it plugged into my computer while I was setting it up. I noticed I was losing charge. so I tried plugging it into my wall outlet that has a usb outlet (and what I normally use to charge my phone) and nothing. then I tried the usb adapter that came with the prime and it charged.

so is that the only way I can charge my prime (via the provided wall charger) or did I get a bad one?

The manual states that the Prime will only charge ideally with the included USB wall charger; if you choose to charge it via USB, it has to be turned off or at least in sleep/standby mode, and it will charge more slowly than with its included charger. With the screen on and the tablet active, it'll be using more power than a standard USB port/charger can supply.

Unfortunately most tablets are this way, as they simply require more power than a 5V/500mA or so port can handle.

what's odd is that my wall usb charger does output 5V/2.4A, but I guess the TP manual says 15V/1.2A. I'm no electrician so I'm not sure how my wall outlet is not enough.

this is what I got tho: FastMac | Product - U-Socket
