Hi

I have a OnePlus 10 Pro 5G. I purchased a tp-link USB Type-C to RJ45 Gigabit adapter.

When plugged into the network, the phone the phone shows a symbol which i have had no luck in understanding. It is: <...>!

There is no connectivity despite me following the protocol of turning off both wifi and mobile data before attaching the adapter.

Any thoughts?

That icon "<...>" definitely represents Ethernet (when I search for "Ethernet" on my Pixel 7 Pro, that's the icon that shows up next to it). The exclamation point presumably means there's no valid Ethernet connection.

When you connect the Ethernet cable, go to Settings>Network & Internet -- does anything show up there in terms of connections?

I've been away for a week. Bizarrely, when i just plugged the ethernet cable in via the adaptor, it now works perfectly, showing the "<...>" without the ! - so, either there has been a background update to either the phone or, potentially I guess, Bitdefender (which i have running). The only change of which i am aware is the swap out of one sim in slot 2 as i was changing provider on my secondary sim.

Interestingly, if I try and find Settings>Network & Internet I don't have such a setting and, searching settings for 'ethernet', the only option which comes up is 'Ethernet tethering'.

Anyway, working now. Thanks for the help. If anything changes I'll be sure to post it here.
