Track Information Using Bluetooth Audio

Do any of you know what determines whether or not track information is shown when using Bluetooth audio in a car?

We have several phones in our family. The Nokia Lumia 920 sends track info. Our Galaxy Note II says "Unknown" and my new Nexus 4 says "Transfer of Track Info Not Supported."

Are there apps or tweaks that can come into play here? Thanks.

What you want is Bluetooth with AVRCP, version 1.3+ I believe. Android does not include this yet. There are custom ROMs that do, however (which requires unlocking your bootloader).

Android is still on AVRCP, version 1.0. have seen many complaining about that.
here is a issue created in 2009 with many starring it. still no update to it https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=5450

Thanks, guys. Any idea why new versions of Android wouldn't include the latest Bluetooth profile? Is there a cost involved?
