Tracking app

Try 'My Tracks'

It's available in the market

Is My Tracks able to do live tracking like that?

I've never used Latitude (using Google Maps on the phone), but it would seem that this would be a way to do that?

I did not realize that is what Latitude was! We will try this and see how it works! Thanks

I'm actually glad you posted this, as I'm running my first marathon myself next month (if my hip cooperates) and this actually seems like a cool idea. I'm generally not all that interested in Latitude, but this is a great use for it. I hadn't though about doing something like this.

People have had troubles with Latitude keeping up. I haven't tried my tracks, so i don't know if that is able to broadcast online.

My Tracks is awesome. I use it while mountain biking. It keeps track of your speed, mileage, moving/resting time, average time, elevation and other stuff, in real time if you glance at it.
At the end of the race, it can save the track with all the data, and you can upload it to your Google account. It's filed under both My Maps and My Documents for future reference, and you can display all that info on Google Earth as well.
Best of all, ITS FREE. Great app, and very accurate.
