I'm planning to upgrade to the 3D this weekend. Last I heard, Sprint had an instant $150 credit for trading in your EVO and RS had $100. (That's on top of the Renewal price of only $199 for the phone.)
Does anyone know if those are still in effect??
The $150 trade in at sprint comes off of the $549 retail price, then they take off any upgrade price bonus, then you pay what's left, so, on a normal full upgrade you would pay $250 for a 3D. HOWEVER, if you add a line and port your number it would be $50 for the phone and $20 for the port leaving a random new phone number as an unused line for free on your account.
Confused yet?

Yeah, I traded my regular EVO in for $150. Ended up paying $68 to get the new one.
????
It's not that complicated...if you are fully upgrade eligible, they charge you $199.99 + tax, then subtract $150 for the EVO trade-in credit.
Depending on your state, you'll walk out with an EVO 3D for between $49.99 and $69.99 since the tax is on the full upgrade price.
If you're a new customer, you probably wouldn't have an EVO to trade in through Sprint's buyback program.
If you port in as a new customer and get a 3D, then you get a $125 smartphone line credit, so in essence you'd pay $75 + tax for an EVO 3D with a new line of service.
