Are those FedEx drop off boxes adequate to ship your phone out or do you need to take it to an authorized FedEx shipping location? There isn't a FedEx store around here like the UPS store.

I used a FedEx box. Worked fine. Just make sure it's a FedEx ground shipping box. I'm in same situation

Instructions say don't do that but I don't know if it'll really cause issues or just for precaution they say that.

"Drop off the package at any authorized FedEx Ship Center. Click here to find one nearest you.

Please do not use a FedEx Drop Box when making a return. All packages must be dropped off at a FedEx Ship Center."

I've done it 3 times, no issues. Others have also. I'm guessing it's got something to do with theft. I do it in the morning just before pick up. I wouldn't leave it over night in one.


Of course this is probably our risk, FedEx isn't responsible for the package till they mark it in their possession, which is probably why they state that.

Nice now the wait, they received mine on 10th still waiting for trade in complete confirmation. Mint like new Note 10, do it fast Samsung
 
Mine is supposed to get there on Tuesday but what bugs me is I sent back my ultra to them and they got it on the 9th and still haven't heard back from them. How long does it take inspect a return device? I could really use that money :/

You returned the Ultra and also in the trade in device later?

Everyone returning

Please remember to remove your Samsung and Google accounts to ensure Factory Data Reset Protection from the device before factory resetting. This has caused issues for some people getting their trades accepted in the past. If you have an iPhone sign out of your accounts.

I believe in the instructions it specifies not to use a drop box and to take it to a location.
 
I dropped mine off at FedEx today at like 545pm. Just got notification that it was delivered time to call FedEx tomorrow

Yes it does, but you can do it. It's a disclaimer from Samsung, you're doing it at your own risk.

Received my wife's yesterday. They received mine on Monday....still no trade in successful email.
 
Anyone recently got trade in approved? Mine was delivered last Tuesday and close to week tomorrow. I'm starting to wonder if the COVID-19 situation is affecting the warehouse ability to accepts and inspect trade ins in a timely manner. Pretty much every business is impacted in some way or other so wouldn't be surprised if that's the case here.
