Trade in values are garbage!

Considering that many didn't pay 1,600 for their 1TB S22 Ultra I believe it will be ok. Samsung is tired of giving out crazy high values for the sake of selling devices. They are switching to carrier promos as the profit is bigger than the high instant values they're use to giving. The economic shift that will be happening in the next few years is no joke.

That's because carriers pay close to full retail for the phone, they get their money back from monthly service bills. Samsung makes a lot more money that way.

Re: Do NOT preorder!

I'm more upset you have to go through the carrier (unless unlocked). I don't want something tacked on my bill. I preferred Samsung finance. So will probably pass on the 23. I was looking forward to it so that's a bummer.

Re: Do NOT preorder!

Looks like only AT&T has the best deal 1,000 off S23 lines with any type of phone to trade.

Re: Do NOT preorder!

Unfortunately I was not able to get it to work. Tried a couple of different phones for trade in and couldn't get it higher than $800. Will try again later.
I wonder why I was able to get it and some others got it but you're not able to get up that's weird. I wonder if maybe I qualify for a bonus on my account I don't know about I'll look better later

$500 for a $1600 1TB S22U? I may not be buying a new phone for a very long time. Samsung is shooting themselves in the foot. Samsung is testing to see how stupid people are.
Why would you even think about an S23 U when you have last year's ? It's the same phone

There has to be a catch to those carrier deals...like a higher monthly bill.

Re: Do NOT preorder!

If you were trading in a US unlocked S21 Ultra for an S22 Ultra last year, pre-ordering was still the best deal for the 256 GB S22 Ultra (which was sold for the price of the 128 GB model during the pre-order). I expect the same to be true if you want the 512 GB S23 Ultra this year, instead of the 256 GB model. But the trade-in value is poor this year, so it's probably better to sell your old phone yourself.
They will offer the memory upgrade again. I see the trades possibly increasing, but not the high ones we're use to seeing (at least with Sammy). Those days are gone. Samsung is out for profits lol.

Possibly. If your monthly bill for unlimited calls, text, and data is more than $70 (or more than $50 if you qualify for a discount), then that monthly excess, times the number of months you're locked in, is really part of the phone's cost.

It's not the same phone. If you wouldn't notice the differences much, then of course you shouldn't upgrade. But others might appreciate the differences even if you don't.

Re: Do NOT preorder!

Trade ins are exactly the same as always. It's just the US market has not had theirs inflated this year. They will have to make do with just paying less than anywhere else. Boo Hoo..
